October 18 - History of Maps and Map Making Quiz

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome and great to see you beautiful people!  Today in class we will be taking our quiz on the history of maps and map making and then you will have time to finish up your Court Cartographer Project (if necessary) and turn it in.  I hope that you all have had a great week, let's finish strong!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Demonstrate content knowledge about latitude, longitude, map making, and time zones

  2. Submit Court Cartographer Project

    2. Court Cartographer Project Rubric
  3. If you finish BOTH the test and the Court Cartographer Project early you may start work on the Extra Credit Opportunity below!
    1. EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY
    2. Choose a Comic book available in class
      1. Must choose a whole story
        1. Either a trade (collection of stories)
        2. Or a series of issues that make up a story
    3. Read it!!!
    4. Write a one (or more) page refection on what you read.  Answer the questions below
      1. Why did you choose this comic book?
      2. Summarize the story.
      3. What did you learn while reading?
      4. How does the combination of pictures and words make good literature?
      5. Would you try reading a comic again?  Why?
    5. DUE MONDAY
      1. Remember that Extra Credit Points are completely subjective and may or may not be applied to your grade depending on the quality of your work 😜
