March 8 - Rwanda Scavenger Hunt

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome back and great to see you all!  Today in class we will be finishing our discussion on Africa's history (if we need to) and then we will be doing a scavenger hunt regarding the Rwandan genocide!  We will spend a bit of time looking at the Rwandan genocide because it is one great example of the political and social damage that Africa is suffering from because of its history with European colonization.  We will be watching the film Hotel Rwanda next week!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objective:
  1. Discuss the history of Africa, regional characteristics, and the impacts of Europeans
  2. Investigate the context of the Rwandan genocide and the people/groups involved through a digital scavenger hunt
Agenda:
  1. Finish African discussion
  2. Rwanda Scavenger Hunt
    1. Rwanda Scavenger Hunt Resources
    2. Scavenger Hunt Worksheet
Homework:
  1. NONE
That's all for today folks!  Hope that you all enjoyed the day!  We will be continuing our discussions of Africa next week.  Have a great weekend and take care!

Live long and prosper,

Mr. Marchetti
