February 7

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we will be discussing issues that the world faces because of its large population.  This will involve talking with your peers and also sharing your thoughts with the class.  An important component to this activity is the ability to state your thoughts AND support them with evidence!  Without factual evidence to support your thoughts, they are simple opinions and can be easily refuted.  We will finish up with talking about argumentative writing.  Always great to see you all!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Evaluate arguments about population and discuss with peers the reasons for picking one side or another
  2. Write an argumentative paragraph based on the class discussion
Agenda:
  1. History Today #10
  2. Activity: Agree or Disagree
  3. Quick Write: Argumentation
  4. Time Permitting:

    2. Start: Argumentative Writing Task

That's all for today ladies and gentlemen!  Hope that the discussions got you thinking about the world around us!  I look forward to seeing you all again on Thursday!  Have a great day!

Live long and prosper,

Mr. Marchetti
