January 25 - Finish Watershed Activity and California Quiz

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome back!  Happy Thursday to you all!  Today in class we are wrapping up our short unit on California.  We will be finishing the Watershed Activity and then taking our California Quiz.  This is a short quiz so shouldn't be too stressful for you all.  Don't forget about the North America Map Test on Monday (our first Map Test woohoo!).  It is our last day together before the weekend so let's have fun!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objective:
  1. Describe features of our local watershed by working collaboratively and researching information
  2. Respond to a select response assessment to demonstrate competency about California Geography

    1. How many regions are there in California?
    2. What type of business if the Central Valley known for?
    3. What mountain ranges are in the Inland Mountain Region?
    4. How do you take a screenshot on a Chrome Book?
    5. How do you measure distance on Google Maps?
    6. What is the difference between a recharge pond and a reservoir?
    7. Remember that Watersheds must be described by their name (ex. Guadalupe Watershed)
    8. Remember renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric power and solar power.
    9. Know what an estuary is
    10. How are percolation ponds and aquifers connected?
    11. What are endangered species of the SF Bay/Delta Estuary?
    12. What causes the greatest pollution to our estuary?
    13. Why are we losing water?
Homework:
  1. Submit The Bay Starts Here to Google Classroom tonight by 11:59pm
  2. Finish Map Packet
  3. North America Map Test on Monday!
