October 8

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we are reviewing the History of Maps and Map Making.  This should be mostly a review for you (if you did your assignment the day I was absent!) and we should be able to get through it quick.  After that we are starting our Court Cartographer project!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources.

Agenda:
  1. Warm-Up #14
  2. Discuss/Review: History of Map Making
  3. Introduce:  Court Cartographer Project
    1. Court Cartographer Directions
      1. For this assignment you will need to draw a map illustrating the information provided in the fictional letter from the fictional explorer Luigi Bartolini
      2. Be sure to annotate the letter and keep close track of the details provided by the explorer.
    2. Court Cartographer Rubric
      1. Examine the rubric closely and be sure to follow it to achieve full credit!
      2. Exceptional levels of effort and creativity may earn extra credit.
Homework:
  1. NONE
That's all for today ladies and gentlemen!  Do not neglect your Court Cartographer assignments!

Live long and prosper,

Mr. Marchetti
