Welcome Back! Hopefully everyone has had an opportunity to rest up a bit and stay safe"sheltering in place." I realize we are not in the same classroom face to face but we will continue to work with one another throughout this time away. I for one am super excited about getting back to working with each of you.
To start, I'd like to ask that you log into Google Classroom each day as if you were still physically at school. Additionally, you should be working on a particular school subject during the normally scheduled time slot (To the best of your ability). Since I see all my classes on a slightly different schedule I am going to use a Monday, Wednesday, Friday post schedule. That means you should look for new lessons on each of those days! You will work on World Cultures related assignments, readings, projects, studying, etc... during that time period. I am not planning on hosting 'live' Zoom or Webex full class attendance sessions so I won't be monitoring any attendance. It's not mandatory that you log on during the exact class time frame but it is strongly recommended. Each regularly scheduled class period I will have a posting in Google Classroom providing you instructions for what we will be doing that day as well as what you will be expected to complete for that class period and any homework or extended assignment(s). I will be online and available for questions during those times. Just as if we were in school, assignments will typically be due the very next class (unless otherwise instructed). I will attach slides in each day's post that will cover our Objectives, Agenda, and any Classwork/Homework similar to when we were meeting 'in-person'. Periodically I will create a recording of myself giving instructions, a lecture, or explaining an assignment and posting it within the day's google classroom post. Please always view these videos in their entirety as they should provide detailed clarification for what's expected. To get things started I have a recording for you attached to this post. It is of me walking through the attached slides and covering our Distance Learning Expectations and of our South African unit calendar for the week. Again, Welcome Back & Please let me know if you have any questions.
