March 9 - Mapping Monday

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class you should have worked on and completed your third Current Event.  If and when you completed the Current Event you should have worked on your Africa Map Packets.

Current Event #5 should be on a newsworthy event in Africa.

Remember to review any comments I made on your previous Current Events to avoid making the same mistake twice!

Today I passed out the Africa Map Packets.  If you need additional copies use the document links below to replace a lost or damaged sheet.  (Map Test is on March 23)

1. Country Names –All Capital Letters – EGYPT (black)

2. Capital or major cities – First Letter Capital, the rest lower case – San Diego (red) 

3. Bodies of Water labeled in Blue – Amazon (blue) 

4. Landforms labeled in blue

5. Orientation – always with a North designation (readable left to right without rotation)

6. Political Maps – each country a different color

7. Physical map colored like the vegetation
