December 5 & 6 - State Legislatures & continue Ideal Society

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome and great to see all you fantastic people!  Today in class will be similar to our last session together.  We will start by taking a look at State Legislative government through reading and answering questions.  Then you will have time to continue working with your Ideal Society groups!  Should be a fun and informative day and we are almost at the weekend!  So close!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Explore and analyze the role and powers of the State Legislative Branch
  2. Show mastery of government/economic systems by creating your own ideal society

Homework:
  1. Study for Final Exam
    1. You will be allowed to use ONE page of notes on the final exam (one side of one piece of paper)
  2. History Today Journal Collection on Monday! (Bring your Journal!)
    1. Print out a copy of the Journal Checklist and bring to class!
  3. Tribal Government EXTRA CREDIT
    1. We have learned a lot about State governments this week
    2. Here is a very unique aspect of the United States --> Native American Tribal Government
    3. Tribal Governments operate separately from State Governments and deal directly with the Federal Government
      1. Even though they are within the various states
    4. Answer two sections on a separate piece of paper and turn in on Monday
      1. Searching for Sovereignty --> Choose ONE of the three options and answer the 3 questions
      2. Differing Governing Styles
    5. In one paragraph (minimum 5 sentences) what did you find most interesting about Tribal Governments and explain why.
    6. DUE MONDAY
