May 22 - Immigration Waves

Welcome back after the weekend!  Hope that you had a great one!  Today in class we will be reading a few documents on the different waves of immigration.  You will be examining the history of the various immigration groups that came to the United States.  Should be an interesting historical read!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

May 17 - Religion Quiz and Start Immigration Unit

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome back once again.  Today in class we will have our religion quiz and then we will be starting our last unit of the year, which is on Immigration.  Should be an interesting way to finish everything off.  Don't forget that Finals are just around the corner and you should keep studying your maps!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

May 15 - Finish Promises

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome back!  Today in class we will be finishing the documentary Promises and then writing a short reflection on it.  If you finish the video and the reflection early, then you will have time to work on stuff for your other classes.  Make sure that you work diligently and turn in all assignments today!  Also don't forget that we have our Religion Quiz on Thursday, so you could study for that as well.  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Analyze the Israel/Palestine conflict through the documentary Promises and reflect on its relevance in today's world
Agenda:
  1. Finish: Promises
  2. Reflection Paper: Promises
    1. Paper must be 2-3 pages and follow all standard formatting rules
      1. Title Page
      2. Page numbers (that skip the title page)
      3. Times New Roman 12 pt font
      4. Include a bibliography
    2. Answer these questions
      1. Summarize the documentary Promises
      2. What do you think about the Israel/Palestinian conflict?  Are there any easy solutions?
      3. Why do you think this conflict has gone on for so long?
      4. What is the situation in Israel/Palestine today? (look at current news)
    3. Turn in to Google Classroom by midnight tonight.

May 14 - Asia Map Test

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome back from the weekend!  It is so great to see you all after being away for a couple of days!  Today in class we have our Asia Map Test, our last map test for the year (besides the Final Exam).  It is a bit of a tough one but if you have been studying for the past few weeks you should be ready to go!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

May 10 - Israel/Palestine Conflict

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome back!  I will miss you all today and hope that you have a great day!  Today in class you will be watching two videos.  The first is a Crash Course on the Israel/Palestine conflict and the second is the video Promises.  This is the last topic of our religion unit.  I hope you enjoy the videos while I am away!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objective:
  1. Empathize with the situation in Israel/Palestine by viewing the experiences of children in the area
Agenda:
  1. Crash Course World History: Israel and Palestine
    1. Answer EdPuzzle Questions on a Separate piece of paper

  1. Start Promises
    1. You are required to take notes!
    2. Please make sure you:
      1. Have 25 or more bullet points (number them)
      2. Get down information from beginning, middle, and end of the film
      3. Be prepared to share out the most interesting or impactful information from the film
